GREAT BAY--On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the award-winning telecommunications company TelEm Group hosted its first annual TelEm T-Hunt, an exciting island-wide scavenger hunt that brought laughter, creativity, and community spirit to the streets of St. Maarten. This is not the first scavenger hunt as hosted by TelEm, but it is the first T-hunt themed event.
TelEm Management: “The T-Hunt is a reminder that connection isn’t just about technology, it’s about people. We want to be closer to the community we serve, and events like this give us a chance to celebrate St. Maarten’s energy, creativity, and spirit together.”
The highly anticipated event took place at the TelEm headquarters in Philipsburg, kicking off at 9:00 a.m. and running until 2:00 p.m. The T-Hunt attracted ten (10) registered teams, with eight (8) enthusiastic local teams showing up ready to compete in an exhilarating day filled with fun, adventure, and TelEm pride.
Teams participating included Pac-Man, Drive for a Cure, Scooby Squad, Trail Blazhers, Social Butterfly, Porn Stars, Pinky and the Brains, and Power Puff Girls. Contestants came dressed in creative costumes and drove in decorated vehicles.
Throughout the scavenger hunt, participants followed clues, completed challenges, and even built a brand-new TelEm mascot. One of the event’s highlights was a special pit stop at KFC Cole Bay, where teams enjoyed complimentary meals courtesy of KFC, earning bonus points toward their final scores.
After an intense and entertaining competition, the Scooby Squad emerged victorious, claiming first place and the grand prize of $1,500. In second place, the Social Butterflies won $1,000, while the Pac-Man team secured third place honors.
Scooby Squad took home the title of “Most Creative” team, earning $800 in vouchers from Boolchand’s, while the Pac-Man team received $200 in TelCell Top-Up for having the “Most Creative Vehicle”. Scooby Squad’s presented their hand-crafted mascot, appropriately named “Telma,” and won the award for “Best TelEm Mascot” and a $50 prize. The Power Puff Girls were also acknowledged as the “First Group to Arrive”, receiving four blister packs for punctuality and team spirit.
The event was organized by TelEm staff, designed by Eightz C & M, hosted by local musical artist Rummer, and captured on film by Great Bay Media. The St. Maarten Red Cross was also present to ensure safety for all participants throughout the event.
