TamLeo Books releases “Leann’s Journey” to help girls see growing up as something to celebrate

GREAT BAY--TamLeo Books has released “Leann’s Journey of Becoming a Young Lady,” the last and fourth title in its new collection of value based children’s books. The story is inspired by and centered on local content creator and entrepreneur Leann Richardson, and is now available to young readers and families in St. Maarten and beyond.
In the book, Leann witnesses a classmate being teased after an unexpected period mishap. The incident leaves her frightened, confused, and uncertain about her own journey into womanhood. Sleepless nights follow, filled with questions she is afraid to ask. Her perspective begins to change when she meets Kristen, a confident girl who treats growing up as a natural and beautiful part of life rather than something to hide. Through encouragement, open conversations, and the support of family and friends, Leann gradually replaces fear with courage.
The story shows how understanding our bodies can make us stronger, how talking helps to heal shame, and how preparation builds confidence. Inspired by what she learns, Leann decides to share her experience with her classmates. She helps turn embarrassment into empowerment, and sparks kindness, unity, and celebration at her school. By the end of her journey, she embraces her growth with pride, becomes a positive example for others, and helps young girls understand that becoming a young lady is not something to fear, but something to celebrate.
“Leann’s Journey of Becoming a Young Lady” is published under TamLeo Books, the children’s publishing brand founded by St. Maarten author and entrepreneur Tamara Leonard.
