GREAT BAY--Philipsburg is set to glow this December as the Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication rolls out a packed calendar of Christmas Festivities 2025. The festive affair is in keeping with the outlook of Minister of TEATT Grisha Heyliger-Marten to bring the capital alive for the season.

The season opens with the 6th Annual Backstreet Bonanza on November 29 and 30, when Backstreet transforms into a daylong market of live music, shopping, food and more. On December 7, families can head to the Boardwalk for the Jingle at the Jetty parade from 6:00 pm, followed by the annual Christmas tree lighting at Walter Plantz Square at 7:00 pm, complete with free gifts for the kids. A few days later, on December 12 at 6:30 pm, the popular “Twilight in Town” event brings a lighting ceremony to Cyrus Wathey Square, offering free treats, gifts for children and games for all ages along the waterfront.

The festive spirit continues along the Pondfill and Boardwalk as the month progresses. From December 15 to January 5, “The Jolly Lane” turns W. J. Nisbeth Road into a Christmas themed stretch of local vendors, foods and drinks, hosted by the Ministry of TEATT and Kooyman.

The grand finale in the capital comes with “Philipsburg Becomes Magical,” hosted by Xtratight Entertainment on December 19 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and on December 20 and 21 from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm. More than 60 vendors will line the Philipsburg Boardwalk with shopping, culture and entertainment, turning the heart of town into a bustling holiday village for residents and visitors alike.
