Eddie van Marum replaces Zsabó as State Secretary for Kingdom Relations

Eddie van Marum (BoerBurgerBeweging) has been appointed by the Schoof cabinet as successor to Zsolt Szabó, who resigned last week as State Secretary for Kingdom Relations and Digitalization. The BBB member is already State Secretary for Recovery Groningen.

Immediately after the fall of the cabinet, it was determined that outgoing minister Judith Uitermark would be the temporary successor to State Secretary Szabó. The latter's portfolio was Digitalization and Kingdom Relations, just like his predecessor Alexandra van Huffelen. This position of State Secretary for Digital Affairs falls within the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, of which Uitermark is the minister. So now in a caretaker role.

Van Marum has been an MP for the BBB and has a colorful career. During his studies, he was also an independent milker and cattle caretaker, he had a job as a general employee at an electrical engineering company, he was in military service with the Commando Corps (KCT), and he was a muskrat fighter for the province of Groningen for many years. 

After that, Van Marum worked as a freelancer in various roles. This includes counter-expert in the field of fire, storm, water and mining damage, and also funeral director, and fauna advisor for agricultural nature management and predator management.
