Differently-abled athletes shine at inclusive Jamboree backed by SZV

GREAT BAY--On Saturday, June 14, the spirit of inclusion and community was fully displayed at the annual St. Maarten Little League Challenger Jamboree. For the second consecutive year, SZV Social & Health Insurances renewed its partnership with the Sint Maarten Little League Association. This collaboration reflects SZV’s continued commitment to community inclusion and promoting access to wellness-centered events.

As part of SZV’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the partnership underscores its dedication to supporting health, wellness, and meaningful community engagement. The event featured players from the Sister Basilia Center, 721 Kids Foundation, and Special Olympics Foundation, who participated in an adaptive softball game designed to celebrate differently-abled individuals.

Each player was partnered with a “buddy”, volunteers from Little League teams, and supported by additional volunteers from the Fire Department, VKS cadets, and Police Department cadets who helped with running, fielding, and enthusiastic cheering.

The day included not only the adapted game but also lunch for all players and volunteers, making it a well-rounded and joyful experience.

SZV expressed its appreciation to the individuals and businesses that contributed, as well as to the Fire Department, Police, and VKS for their critical logistical support. Gratitude was also extended to Little League officials, ground crew, buddies, and volunteers who helped ensure safety, hydration, and smooth execution throughout the day.
